Who it's for: JC 1 and JC 2 students taking H1 Mathematics (8865) or H2 Mathematics (9758) at the 'A' Levels.
What we cover: the full SEAB syllabus. For H2: functions and graphs, sequences and series, vectors, complex numbers, calculus, and probability and statistics. For H1: the pure mathematics and statistics sections. Every note and worksheet is written in-house.
Where marks are really lost: H2 papers punish method more than knowledge. We drill these until they stop:
shifting the limits of a sum and miscounting the terms
multiplying an inequality by an expression that could be negative
sketching y = 1/f(x) or y = f′(x) without carrying over the key points and asymptotes
concluding a hypothesis test in the wrong words
We teach the reasoning behind each step, so students can handle the unfamiliar questions that decide the A. Our free Exam Traps videos show one trap each week.
How lessons work: JC students tend to work more independently, so the teacher checks in often, finds where each student is losing marks, and adjusts their work to match. During term we follow each student's college pace. Before prelims and the 'A' Levels we move to timed papers and exam technique.
In the holidays: we teach ahead, so JC 1 students meet the hardest topics before their college does.
Seeing progress: every student has a private Google Drive folder with all their marked work.
